May 2009 London Expo?

Okay, not sure what the dates are yet BUT its likely to be end of May at the begining of the half-term holidays though. (Of course on a weekend!) 23rd and 24th.

Myself, Abbi and Viki (doesn't know it yet xp) are definatly going for the weekend.

Sooo who else is interested?

We'll be staying at the London City Airport Travel Lodge again because 1. its close to the ExCeL centre, 2. its cheap, 3. its pretty decent, 4. its VERY close to main tubes etc.

I'll just expand on 2. a little. ROOMS: Some of you may or may not know, but my mum is a real bargin hunter. She's willing to get as many rooms as we need for £19 a night per room. So for 3 nights (Me+A+V are going for the friday/saturday/sunday nights) it would work out at £57, so we'd pay £19 each for the three nights. Talk about cheap!

Here's about rooms: (taken from travel lodge website)

Family rooms are subject to availability. The maximum occupancy for a family room is either:
2 adults and 2 children (under 16 years of age); or
3 adults.

There are also normal rooms which you can have 2 adults staying in.

All rooms are the same price, so price-wise it makes no difference which type of room you are in, it just affects how many people are allowed to stay in it.


TRAVEL: Okay, few ways to travel, lifts (by car, there and back, it would cost about £40 of petrol. Of course that's likely to have changed by May xp what ith fuel prices up and down every five seconds), I'll be able to drive by then, but my parents are funny about me driving to London soo who knows.

Then there's train. Apparently you can book trains so early in advance that you can get your return tickets to London for as little as £15! I need to read up more on this though *looks at mum* I'll let you know what I find out ASAP.


EXPO: Fast track tickets are £12, or normal tickets are £9. A ticket lasts a day, so if you want to 'go in' for both days, of course it will be double, but, what I personally am going to do is only buy a ticket for Sunday. Why you ask? Basically, inside is a big dealers room with a few other things and there is so much that takes place outside the room (but inside the centre) and outside the center. I spoke to a few people who never actually 'go in' because of this. So why Sunday you ask? Well I have word that on Sunday everything is reduced dramatically... sooo yeah.. BARGINS! =D


TUBE: £5.90 for a day rider to absolutly every stop is a great deal, right? Tube takes you just about everywhere and its so easy to use.


FOOD: Honestly, its really not that much more expensive than food here.. (Me+A+V are thinking of just going to ASDA/TESCOS and stocking up xp) But yeah.. there's so many places to eat, if there was anything to worry about food wise, believe me, I'd let you know! XP My only suggestion is to stock up on sweets etc because vending machines are crazily priced x_x


MANGA SHOPS: So easy to get to.. The bigs ones are near China Town. Very easy to find! and they are pretty decent!


Soo all in all, I'd say £100 tops each per person (excluding spending money). Not bad really? We just need to get sorted early and in advance! =D

Look at London City Airport that's the best one to stay in for the expo. (and remember you can get three in a room, so you can divide the prices of a room by 3 to get the cost of what you'll have to pay.



You have to remember that prices with the travelodge change constantly (but £19 is generally as low as they go). If anyone wants talking through the process, speak to me ASAP.

Well if I can I'll be going to both because me, adam, haruhi and minnie-chan, and Minni-chan's sister are going to be dancing at the expo's as the SOS Brigade. Gonna be doing allsorts of different dances, of course Hare Hare Yukai, and Welcome Unknown, and we're thinking of other dances to do aswell, we're not sure the exact lineup XD

plus me and abbi can still be classed as children seeing as its may so we can fit one more person in our room, which will make it cheaper for us

It sounds good and fairly cheap for a trip to london, if i can actually save money i'll try and go as it does sound like a blast

Kirstys mum and dad said that its not that much more expensive for drinks in london than here.

We should buy in bulk so its cheaper

I've been drinking in london- it's overpriced in private places (as in stupidly more than here), like theaters but just go to a place like Tesco's- their prices are the same all over england!
But yeah, I'll be drinking, for sure

And btw, Kirsty can't drink anyway, it's against her beliefs.

Its not that I can't drink (hate it when people use can't/can =_=) but its that I choose not to because yeah, it's against my beliefs xp But to be honest.. I don't think I'd drink anyway! XP;; *dies* I don't like the thought of not being able to control my thoughts and actions.. that and I can imagine myself not being able to stop at just one glassbottle ha ha...
