London Expo May 2010 - 29th+30th

I'm pretty sure it's the opposite Taya, i.e. when Lee and Nathan bought tickets nearer to the dat eit was more expensive. And, when you buy on the day it is so much more expensive again.

I don't mean 'that close' but close enough, I think I bought mine just a month before approx.

Because the tickets from leeds to london now costs me around £56 X_X

But I'm sure they'll go back down to £20 or £15 But then they'll go back up again X_X

So I guess it's about timing...?

Dammit! I was too late! I couldn't remember my password, so I bought two tickets for me and alex to go from leeds to london for £20...We're heading off at 10:40AM on friday 28th May


THIRD EDIT: ... T^T I realised I forgot to add 'railcards for 2'.... We could've got them for £13.50...

theres NO rooms left in our hotel, and our rooms are pretty full atm, but if you wanna go im sure we can fit you in in one room seeing as your only one tiny person we need to find out who exactly is going

You can buy train tickets for Grimsby to London for £13 at 9:28am on the Friday 28th May Bought mine and Abbi's last night.

Saturday is fully book. No rooms at all in our hotel but, there are still rooms left for the Friday and Monday nights. Friday is £49 a night, and Monday is £22 a night.

You could ask someone nicely to camp on their floor in a sleeping bag for a kind price ;D

Just looking - You can get the return on June 1st for £13 now on the 17.03 train.

I ended up getting the 2:35 one.. but, I wouldn't have minded getting the 5 one.. Viki talked me into it! But now she can't get tickets for that time o_o well, if everything goes upside down, we can just swap tickets on the day if people wnat to go ealier ;D

I can't get ANY tickets! they're saying they're all full :/

Mine and Abbi's and Mark's train tickets have all arrived and are well.

We can A, either stick around for an hour, grab some lunch, I'll buy us the group rail card for tubes offer, meet with Taya and Alex to get there (CAN ONE OF YOU CONFIRM THE TIME YOU ARRIVE IN LONDON AT PLEASE.) Or, we can B, buy the group rail card for tubes and leave Taya and Alex to pay whatever to get to the hotel, we all go to the hotel and stick around at hotel till check in. (CHECK IN IS AT 2PM)

3:00pm Go back into London. Shop around China Town etc. Go to the japanese shops, the manga shops etc. Go to Tescos. Possibly eat in London for dinner?
Late(ish)pm Go back to hotel.

Saturday 29th May:

9:00am Meet to go to the Expo.
10:00am Dat queue.
6:00pm Leave Expo for a night of fun at the hotel and go for a wonder to the other hotels etc?

Sunday 30th May:

10:00am Meet to go to the Expo.
11:00am Dat queue.
5:00pm Leave Expo. T_T What do people want to do this night?

Monday 31st May:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEN DAY.
11:00am Meet to go into London.
~Do stuff like shopping in London, Picnic?~
Late(ish) Return to hotel.

Tuesday 1st June:

12:00pm Check out.
2:35pm Get on train back to Grimsby.

Is anybody interested in getting early entry tickets? It would help us cut out most of that godawful queue and I can order them for people if they need me to. (I've not ordered any for myself yet cause I wanna see who's actually interested in getting them)

You can get one for both days for £24 - They are also E-Tickets now and will, apparently, be on sale up until a few days before the show.

I wasn't going to get mine until I found out if the Merlin cast were going so I could get signing tickets, wasn't going to bother if they weren't going - That said, would be a pretty good idea if we all got them, save time on the day - Took like 2 hours last time didn't it?

Yes.. supposedly, they have sorted the queue issue.. but to be honest, we might as well buy them in advance as we always get there for the early entry price anyway..

Didn't some people say they weren't actually going into the actually area on one of the days though? I think it was Kim.

I dunno, I might not go in on a sunday i dunno, becasue you just tend to wander in there and around the place and back out so maybe not on one of the days? O_o

EDIT: JUST TO CLARIFY. You can now ONLY buy e-tickets (if you want advance tickets) which means as soon as you order them, you will need to check your inbox/spam box in your emails for it and print it out.

IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED: NO STAMPS THIS YEAR. We'll get a wristband (plastic) when you show your ticket to get into the expo hall. It's to stop people from smearing stamp ink on people's hands who haven't paid.

There's big debates. People are angry because it will ruin their cosplay and/or not go on their cosplay, like with Laura's for example. And the issues surrounding such.

Personally, I think this will make it easier for people to get in free as I know that I'll be able to get it off my hand (I always can because my wrist is virtually the same thickness as my hand, so unless they make it skin tight, which I doubt they will, I'll be able to take mine off).

This will probably be the case for Abbi and Kim too, as I recall, you both have very small wrists and hands? Sorry, not sure about the other girls xp;; Guys, you've got little luck.

Wristbands > Stamps

The stamps were stupid, you could accidentally wash it off and not be allowed to get in, or just walk in without having a stamp at all.

Wristbands ftw - People are always going to sneak in for free, at least this way people who paid can't lose their way in so easily.

The stamps were easy to smudge and put it on other people's hands.
The bands could be souverniers? XD

Wristbands are fine by me - I lost my stamp last year, no idea where they stamped me spent like 5 minutes looking for it before the guy gave up and said go in. I has arm warmer thinger m'watsits it can hide under too - Going to talk nicely to mum and try and get my tickets in the next few days, or I might have to wait because I left my debit card behind D=

You can still buy tickets on the day.

I bought a weekend pass for alex and a sunday one for me.

Not gonna go in on saturday - i don't buy anything on saturday ever anyway
