Christmas Meetup

Heya all, just to let you all know that I'd like to host a party-thing sometime in the christmas hols; snacks, sweets, alcohol, games, music, etc. etc.

My main room can have about 8 people sat down (maybe a couple more), but I'd have some consoles hooked up like Nintendo Wii, or Ps3, there's also a pretty decent sound system so feel free to bring your own CDs.

For those that are reading this and thinking "Omg, that's ages away, why post it now?!" its because I just want to give plenty of forewarning, so people can find out if they're going on holiday or anything like that, etc. etc.

I'd really like a lot of people to come. I'd get some food made and supply some alcohol- you can bring some food and alcohol (or if you can't get it, bring some money and I'll get some)

.... Think about posting this nearer christmas ok? We still have 3 months and a few days.

Yeah ill be free i think.. kinda a vague heads up though since you havent put a date so i cant really say 'yeah ill deffo. be free' when i dont know when it is >___>'' i dont usually do stuff around christmas anyway so i should be...

I think its a good idea Luke to let people know about this Christmas Meet Up as soon as possible.. it'll be really good! =D *gets lots of ideas* It would be good to organise another meet up (not at someone's house of course) and make it a Cosplay event and invite anime & manga fans from all over England etc to come! =o *gets thining about this* This WILL need to be sorted asap.. maybe it could be a New Years Party.. Japanese are big on New Years after all.. *gets thinking*

It would be really good to have a New Years/Christmas Meet Up Cosplay Event where we invited and advertised to the whole of the UK =o I think if we all like the idea and get it organised (our ideas for it) pretty soon, and advertise it begining of October, we could get a really good turn out! What does everyone say/think/etc?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what they would like to do at one? My only concern is.. if people are coming from far away, there aren't many places in Grimsby for them to stay.. you know, hotel-wise etc. >_<

yeh grimsby isn't exactly brilliant for staying over places but i know of some scatterd around outside of grimsby about a 20minute drive from town.

I think it would be quite good just to have a party atmosphere, food and drinks and people cosplaying and a couple of party games, that way it wont be too formal and outsiders wont feel out of their depth kinda thing

yeh that could be a slight problem for them, we could try arranging it so that anybody coming from away that doesn't drive has first priority for places in the town and then others can go to places outside. Depends on how many people would be coming and from how far away i guess
