Cowboy Bebop Live Action.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed today that Keanu Reeves will indeed play Spike Spiegel in the upcoming Cowboy Bebop film.

"If you were one of the many fans out there that was not loving the idea of Keanu Reeves remaking Cowboy Bebop; you might want to brace yourself. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Twentieth Century Fox is officially bringing the beloved anime to the big screen with Reeves attached in the lead. Now if you are a fan of the original show, you can guess just who I'm talking about when I say the lead -- that's right; Reeves will play Spike Spiegel, the interstellar bounty hunter who is *captain of the ship known as The Bebop.

Bebop was the story of a group of bounty hunters set in a time of interstellar travel and astral gates. When a lunar explosion decimated most of humanity, criminals were flung far and wide into the solar system -- enter the rag-tag crew of the Bebop to track them down. Peter Craig has already been tapped to write the script (who only has a few comedy shorts on his resume), but there is no word yet on who is going to direct.

Talk of a live action film has been floating around for a while now, but the press really started to take notice when Reeve's name was attached last summer. When Reeves spoke to MTV about the project earlier this year, most of us knew that the flick had gone well past the talking stage, and the idea of a 2010 release date suddenly didn't seem so unlikely.

So now that we have our Spike, sound off below and tell us who you would like to see fill out the rest of the crew of The Bebop.

Oh i so hope they dont mess it up like they have with the Live DBZ... if they do it well the movie could be so epic XD

They made it tooo....aimed at college students. Hence with all the sports cars, visible cleavage, etc.

i told people about this and all they said was 'there isnt going to be a live action of cowboy bebop, there just wont be, and keanu reeves cant be spike'

I'm not a big fan of Keanu but I actually quite like the idea of him as Spike

I think he could might just pull it off as Spike...#

though Spike has incredible broad shoulders and small hips long body and hair

That's just because your opinion on this anime dwells above anything reality could hope to create in live action.

Arent you over reacting? This happens all the time with movies just look at the Marvel movies T_T
so what if they dont keep to the story line 100% or the actors dont seem to be able to pull the role off before you have even seem them act it, the movie isnt made for rabid fans its made because it has a fan base and might bring in money but they need to make it apeal to non anime watchers and complete strangers too all the while making it modern and something people wont mind paying £5 to go see.
If anything Coyboy bebop is outdated as it is so its going to be hard to bring in viewers and like with dragon ball Earth is Earth, few movies have done well lately where earth has been some alternate Earth so they had to get rid of the dinosours and bring in flash cars.

so just hope that it will be not so bad and watch it with a open mind that its only a 'version of' and not a carbon copy.

Is the Cowboy bebop film even going to be filmed? i mean there are a lot of factors that could stop it, they might go on how well DBZ does before they send out the final scripts.
